Closing Transfer Orders

Created by Datapel Integration, Modified on Fri, 6 Jun at 4:23 PM by Datapel Integration

Description

Transfer Orders are special in that stock does not necessarily leave the warehouse. The WMS allows transfers to be closed immediately after shipping, effectively finalising the movement of stock.

As shown previously, a WMS preference exists allowing operations needing to recognise stock in transit as unavailable and required to be received by another warehouse using the standard receiving process.

By indicating that “All Transfers MUST BE RECEIVED” from the Inventory Preferences, a WMSTRANSFER is created in the Purchase Register for immediate receival whenever a transfer is closed. This setting is ignored and not used in the case of bin to bin transfers.

Detail Steps

To close a Transfer or Stock Check Out:

1. From the Actions menu, select Close Shipped Orders.

2. Check the Stock History (CTRL+H) to verify that the transfer stock movement completed successfully.
